Semaglutide Weight Loss Cincinnati
Semaglutide-Weight-Loss

Long term weight loss solution without unhealthy diet

Semaglutide is a weight loss medication received by weekly injection for weight loss. It works by slowing down the digestive process so that after eating you feel full longer.

The injection is a Glucagon-like peptide-1 (GLP-1), a substance naturally produced by the body that affects your appetite. It is produced when you eat and stops you from feeling hungry, instead creating feelings of fullness.

This weight loss medication imitates GLP-1 in the body and provides similar effects as this natural substance (GLP-1) in our bodies. Because this weight loss medication reduces feelings of hunger, it will cause you to eat less. When combined with a healthy diet and exercise, it will help you lose weight.

Semaglutide FAQs

What Is Semaglutide?

Semaglutide is a weight loss injection. It is a synthetic version of a naturally occurring hormone, Glucagon like peptide, GLP-1, that creates a feeling of fullness in your brain and gut to suppress your appetite.

Additionally, it slows digestion and optimizes insulin to decrease your body fat, and has the potential to improve your overall wellness.

How often should I take semaglutide?

Semaglutide should be taken once a week on the same day each week. Your provider will start you on a low dose of the drug and gradually increase it after 2-4 weeks.

If you miss a dose, give it as soon as possible within five days of the missed one. If more time has elapsed since, skip the missed dose and administer the next one according to your usual weekly schedule.

Do not combine this medicine with any other products that contain GLP-1 agonists, including prescription and non-prescription medicines, herbal preparations, or foods.

Storage and Safety: Store semaglutide injections in the refrigerator.

How Does Semaglutide Work?

Semaglutide functions as a GLP-1 receptor agonist, acting like the hormone your body naturally makes to regulate blood sugar. Not only does this stimulate insulin secretion, but it also inhibits glucagon release – aiding the liver in breaking down stored carbohydrates and fats for energy production.

This drug belongs to an incretin mimetics class of medications, which suppress appetite and may help you lose weight. Clinical trials have demonstrated its effectiveness for those who are obese or overweight and have not achieved weight loss through other diets.

It also slows the passage of food through your stomach, leading to lower calorie intake and a feeling of fullness longer. Semaglutide must be combined with a low-calorie, low-fat diet and exercise for maximum effect.

Is semaglutide safe for kids?

Adolescents have an increased likelihood of obesity compared to adults, and this can lead to serious health complications due to their excess pounds. Obesity has been known to increase the risks of heart disease, high blood pressure, Type 2 diabetes, and depression in these vulnerable groups.

New research suggests semaglutide, a medication already approved for obese adults, may also help young people lose weight. According to The New England Journal of Medicine study, overweight or obese adolescents who received once-weekly doses of semaglutide and followed lifestyle interventions experienced 16.1% greater decrease in BMI over 68 weeks than those taking placebo.

In addition, gastrointestinal events such as nausea, diarrhea and constipation occurred more frequently in the semaglutide group than the placebo group. Cholelithiasis was the most serious adverse event – occurring to one out of every 4 participants randomized to semaglutide and none randomized to placebo. Semaglutide has been use in adolescents, but we do not treat anyone under age 21 at Livio Med Spa.

How Much Does Semaglutide Cost in Cincinnati?

At Livio Med Spa your initial consultation is 250.00. This can be used toward your first 3 months of weight loss management. This includes labs, a temperature controlled carrying case, and a comprehensive examination and health history. Your first 3 months of treatment then costs 1749.00 (after your 250.00 discount) which includes all your weekly semaglutide doses. This fee also includes weight checks every 2 weeks, as well as side effect management as needed. After the first 3 months you can continue on a month-to-month basis at 500.00 per month.

How To Take Semaglutide?

Before beginning to take semaglutide, be sure to inform your provider of all medical conditions you may have. We also request you let your primary care provider know you will be taking Semaglutide. Furthermore, discuss dietary and exercise plans with them as these lifestyle modifications can help you lose weight and maintain it long term.

Are you considering trying semaglutide and wondering if it's covered by insurance?

Most people, unfortunately, the answer is no. Weight loss drugs can be expensive and insurance companies do not cover many of them – particularly the newer ones – due to insurers’ beliefs that weight loss drugs are not as effective as other therapies and thus, won’t cover them unless proven otherwise.

Can non diabetics take semaglutide?

You do not need to be diagnosed with diabetes to take this drug for weight loss.

GLP-1 receptor activation helps people lose weight and maintain their results by suppressing hunger and encouraging them to eat less food.

Does semaglutide have any side effects?

Most people who take semaglutide injection for weight loss do not experience any serious or uncomfortable effects. However, some individuals may experience gastrointestinal (GI) problems like nausea or stomach cramps; these usually subside after a few weeks of using the medication.

About one-third of patients treated with GLP-1RA, including semaglutide, experience GI side effects. The number of these events is dose dependent and the likelihood for these events increases with higher GLP-1RA doses.

Nausea and constipation are the two most frequent GI side effects associated with GLP-1RA, though these usually resolve over time. Nausea may come and go quickly but dehydration and other health complications could arise if you do not take liquids by mouth while taking semaglutide injection. We monitor your side effects closely and can prescribe medication for vomiting if that occurs.

Other side effects may include low blood sugar (hypoglycemia) and an abrupt drop in your cholesterol levels. These risks are more likely if you combine semaglutide injection with other medications that help lower blood sugar, such as insulin or sulfonylureas.

If you are taking semaglutide injection in combination with other medications, it is important to monitor your blood glucose regularly and contact your healthcare provider if you have any signs of low blood sugar. Your healthcare provider can adjust the medications accordingly in order to reduce the risk of hypoglycemia.

Other unexpected side effects may include a sudden shift in mood or feeling suicidal (thinking about harming or killing yourself). If any of these symptoms appear, please contact your provider right away.

What are the side effects of semaglutide for non diabetics?

The most frequent adverse reactions experienced with this medication include nausea, vomiting and constipation or diarrhea. Nausea is especially common when taking higher dosages for weight loss purposes.

By following a low-calorie diet and exercising regularly, you can help minimize nausea and other stomach-related side effects from this medication. These tips should also make your diarrhea less frequent and easier to manage.

Some people have experienced kidney-related issues while taking this medication, particularly those already with kidney disease or taking diuretics (water pills) to lower their blood sugar. We recommend you drink water regularly up to 64 fluid oz. per day. If you experience any signs of kidney failure such as not urinating much or at all, swelling in your arms or legs, feeling weak or tired, contact your healthcare provider right away.

Gallbladder-related complications are possible with this medication, though they are extremely rare. Gallstones can cause discomfort and swelling in your upper stomach as well as clay-colored stools.

Other possible side effects of semaglutide include itching, rash, and redness at the injection site. If these become worse or last longer than two weeks, stop using semaglutide and contact Livio immediately.

Drug interactions may occur when taking this medication, so be sure to discuss all products you use (including prescription and nonprescription drugs, vitamins, and herbal supplements) with your provider. Do not start, stop or adjust any medications without first getting their approval.

What is the average weight loss with semaglutide?

Weight loss has been one of the reported advantages of once-a-week injectable GLP-1 agonists such as semaglutide . These drugs originally developed to treat Type 2 diabetes by helping regulate blood sugar levels; however, they have now also been shown to assist overweight and obese individuals in losing weight.

According to a study of over 1,961 adults, those taking semaglutide for 68 weeks experienced an average loss of 14.9% of their body weight compared to 2.4% among those on placebo.  These results demonstrate that semaglutide is both effective and safe when it comes to weight loss, according to researchers.

Semaglutide is a tool to help you in your weight loss journey. However, it’s essential to remember that these drugs don’t cure obesity – patients must make other lifestyle changes in order to maintain long-term success with weight loss.

Does semaglutide help with belly fat loss?

Semaglutide is an incretin mimetic drug, meaning that it mimics GLP-1 – an insulin-releasing hormone produced naturally in the body – to regulate blood sugar increase satiety, and encourage weight loss. Weight loss occurs in all parts of the body, including belly fat.

The drug administered subcutaneously, or under the skin, using a single-use injection syringe. It should be injected once every week but can be given at any time of day.

As this medication has a slow onset, it could take weeks before any therapeutic effects appear. Therefore, you should follow your healthcare provider’s treatment plan closely and maintain consistent treatments on a weekly basis in order to maximize these benefits.

How long Should I Continue Taking Semaglutide?

After 20 weeks of treatment with semaglutide at a maintenance dose of 2.4 mg, patients experienced significant continued weight loss. Unfortunately, discontinuing treatment after this time often meant regaining most of the lost pounds if you have not made lifestyle changes.

Semaglutide should be part of a comprehensive weight management plan that includes increased physical activity and decreased caloric intake.

Can You Take Semaglutide Daily As Part of a Weight Loss Program?

Semaglutide should be taken weekly as part of a weight loss program. The medication comes as a solution in a prefilled dosing syringe which you inject subcutaneously (under the skin).  It’s an active form of glucagonlike peptide-1 (GLP-1). This hormone stimulates hunger receptors in the brain, making you feel full, while encouraging fat burning for energy production.

Additionally, semaglutide increases glucose levels in your blood, aiding weight loss. For best results, combine it with exercise and a nutritious diet in addition to taking your dose of semaglutide.

Your doctor can adjust your dosage if you experience difficulty adapting to the medication or find that weight loss is not progressing as quickly as expected. They may suggest starting with a lower dose of the drug if you experience significant side effects.

Nausea, diarrhea, constipation, tiredness, and vomiting were the most frequent side events.  These gastrointestinal side effects were typically mild, tolerable and did not disrupt daily activities.

Any severe digestive problems that persist for more than 3 days should be reported to your prescriber. While these conditions may not be life-threatening, they should still be taken seriously.

Semaglutide should be used with caution if you have a history of thyroid tumors or have relatives who have them. While this is an extremely rare risk, it should still be taken into consideration.

How Can You Qualify for Semaglutide?

You are eligible for semaglutide if you are overweight or obese and have at least one weight related condition like high blood pressure, type 2 diabetes, or high cholesterol. Furthermore, you must be willing to make lifestyle modifications.

What Diet Works Best With Semaglutide?

If you’re taking semaglutide for weight loss, it is essential to remember that your eating habits will have an effect on how the drug functions.

A healthy diet can help improve your blood glucose profile while minimizing adverse side effects. But it must also be achievable and sustainable in the long run.

Eating foods high in protein and low in carbs, while avoiding those that are high in salt or sugar, could help you prevent bloating or other digestive issues associated with semaglutide.

Furthermore, you should consume smaller meals throughout the day to ensure your stomach is satisfied. Semaglutide’s slowing of gastric emptying may cause bloating or other digestive issues when too much food is eaten at once.

We suggest consuming small amounts of protein, carbohydrates and fat throughout the day to stay satisfied and prevent cravings for other foods.

Eating the correct amount of food at each meal is critical for long-term weight loss success and helps you reach your objectives faster. You must also increase your water intake while using semaglutide.

A balanced calorie-restricted diet combined with exercise and other weight loss methods is key for long-lasting success. If you’re thinking of trying out our semaglutide diet program, we can help determine which one is most suitable for you based on your medical history, goals, and budget.
